The Rolex Yacht-Master looks good with the new blue sunray dial; it contrasts perfectly with the platinum bezel. The design is quite striking, especially in comparison to the previous generation which features a somewhat bland silver on platinum combination.

The 40 mm case is in Rolesium (a combination of 904L stainless steel superalloy and 950 platinum), with a polished finish. It is powered by the robust 3135 caliber automatic movement with a Rolex patented blue Parachrom hairspring. The dial features Chromalight luminescent hours hands and hour markers, which emits a blue glow and is said to be easier to read in the dark than the industry standard, Superluminova.

“The bidirectional rotation system on the bezel of this new Yacht-Master has been entirely rethought. It is based on a 120-position notched ring and a trigonal spring providing a constant torque in both directions, ensuring minimal wear and highly precise manipulation.

The bezel with raised graduations contributes greatly to the unique identity of the model and its functions. Made entirely of 950 platinum, with polished graduations standing out against a sand-blasted finish, it can be easily set to time a period of up to 60 minutes – for example the sailing time between two buoys – or to provide a reminder of elapsed time.”

The bracelet has been upgraded to the new-generation Oysterlock safety clasp, which prevents accidental opening. It also features the Easylink rapid extension system that allows the wearer to easily increase the bracelet length by approximately 5 mm, without any tools. (Ref. 116622)
