Zenith expands its modern El Primero A386 design, which dates back to 1969, with a Verdigris-green gradient dial limited edition, just for the French market.

The Chronomaster Original Paris Edition comes in the familiar 38 mm stainless steel case, with flat, polished case flanks, pump chronograph pushers, and tapered lugs. Fitted with a box-shaped sapphire crystal, the contemporary model keeps of its retro flare.

A marquee feature is the Verdigris-green gradient dial that fades from light in the center to dark on the perimeter, with triple tone-on-tone subdials that sit just below the plane of the dial and feature white printed graduations. The chapter ring and outer chronograph scale are printed in white, with an additional 1/10th of a second ring printed on the flange.

Inside, is Zenith’s El Primero chronograph that boasts a 5Hz beat rate and a 60-hour power reserve, with hours, minutes, small seconds, and a 1/10th of a second horizontal (lateral) clutch-equipped column-wheel chronograph.

In addition to the two-stitch leather strap, each timepiece comes with a stainless-steel bracelet equipped with Zenith’s new “Zenclasp” folding clasp that was developed over three years and comprises 41 components, including 10 ceramic balls. Most notably, it boasts a built-in micro-adjustment system allows tool-free sizing in 2.5-mm increments across a total adjustment range of 10mm.

Each sapphire case back is engraved with “ÉDITION PARIS” and individually numbered from 1 to 50. Retail is approximately $13,500 although as noted above, this is strictly available to the French market.
