This month, G-Shock debuts its newest addition to the Full Metal 5000 Series with a unique two-tone matte look created using a new production process.

The G-Shock GMWB5000MB-1 features the company’s signature square-shaped case — based on the DW-5000C from 1983 — that measures 49.3 mm x 43.2 mm x 13.0 mm.

Defined by a matte exterior look, the exterior finish has been achieved using a new process that utilizes a “honing” technique, which is used to polish the stainless steel surface by spraying it with fine abrasives (similar to sandblasting but gentler). After the black ion-plating is applied to the case and bezel, the bezel is given a straight-grained style “hairline” finish which exposes the silver color of the stainless steel beneath. The buttons and screws complete the look with a shiny polished finish that subtly highlights the predominantly matte surfaces.

Premium G-Shock functions are standard on solar-powered quartz module 3459, including Blutooth functionality, Multi-band 5 Atomic timekeeping, LED illumination, a countdown timer, 5 daily alarms, a full auto-calendar, world time (39 cities), and more.

The stainless steel GMWB5000MB-1 weighs 167 grams with the bracelet, is highly shock resistant, has a depth rating of 200 meters. It will retail for $600 and can be pre-ordered beginning March 30th, 2022, with deliveries to start in April 2022.
