Introducing the new Greubel Forsey GMT, a timepiece which marks the first time the brand has made a complication other than a tourbillon. If you’re a tourbillon fan, no need to be concerned, though, it has a tourbillon too.

The GMT features a 2nd time zone GMT display, 24-second tourbillon, rotating globe with universal time display, 24 time zone worldtime display, summer time indicator, worldtime disc with summer time zones, day-and-night indicator, power reserve display, hours and minutes display, small seconds indicator and a equatorial sapphire crystal lateral window.




The new GMT is powered by the GF05 Caliber has 436 parts, with 50 jewels (olived-domed jewels in gold chatons) and a 72-hour power reserve. Energy is stored in two coaxial series-coupled fast-rotating barrels (1 turn is 3.2 hours), one of which is equipped with a slipping spring to avoid excess tension.

Free-sprung variable-inertia balance with gold meantime screws (10 mm in diameter). Main plates in nickel silver, frosted and spotted with polished bevelling and countersinks, straight-grained flanks, nickel palladium-finish. Bridges in nickel silver, frosted and spotted, nickel-palladium finish, hand bevelled, straight grained flanks, polished countersinks, gold nameplates bearing the individual number of the timepiece. Flat black polished steel tourbillon bridge, hand-bevelled. Tourbillon cage inclined at 25-degree angle, 24-second rotation, cage pillars in avional, titanium cage bridges, gold counterweight.

The 18k white gold case measures 43.5 mm in diameter by 16.14 mm thick. Convex asymmetrical sapphire protecting the dial. Transparent case back with asymmetrical convex sapphire crystal. Three-dimensional, variable geometry-shaped lugs. Polished bezel and center band with hand-finished straight graining. Lateral window with shaped sapphire crystal. White gold pusher with raised polished engraving “GMT” on a hand-punched background. Raised polished engraving “Greubel Forsey” on a hand-punched background. Hand-engraved individual number, gold security screws.

The main hours and minutes dial is in gold with a frosted and anthracite finish. The hour indicator is in white gold with circular graining. The power reserve sector, small second indicator, and GMT indicator are all in gold, with a matte finish. The Greubel Forsey logo is hand-applied.

The hour and minutes hands are in polished gold, with SuperLuminova. Small seconds and power reserve hands in blued steel. 2nd-time zone GMT indicator with a red triangle.

Water-resistance is 30 meters. Crown in white gold with engraved and black lacquered GF logo. Hand-sewn blue or black alligator strap with white gold folding clasp, hand-engraved with Greubel Forsey logo.
