Introducing the Hölstein Edition 2020, a 250-piece limited edition bronze version of the Divers Sixty-Five Chronograph dedicated to the Swiss village where Oris was founded.
Everything from the 43 mm diameter watch case, unidirectional bezel, bezel insert, screw-down crown, and pump pushers are all made of solid bronze — an alloy made with copper that acquires a natural patina as the metal oxidizes.
In what the brand is calling “a first in Swiss watchmaking” — the bracelet is made of solid bronze. The links are made of solid bronze but the material is too soft so stainless steel is used for the bracelet pins and the folding clasp. The screw-in caseback is also made of stainless steel — embossed with an image of the Oris Bear.
Although Oris recently introduced a bronze dialed watch, the dial of the Hölstein Edition is gold-plated, not bronze. It features a gorgeous vertically brushed finish and black chronograph counters and applied indices with rose gold plating.
Like the rest of the Sixty Five Diver collection, a domed vintage-style sapphire crystal protects the dial. Driving the time and chronograph functions is an outsourced Swiss movement with automatic winding, stop-seconds, hand winding, and a 48-hour power reserve. Water-resistance is 100 meters.
This is the first in a series of limited edition timepieces that will be made in honor of Hölstein. The Hölstein Edition 2020 is limited to 250 pieces with the ability to choose your edition numbers online. Retail is $5,200.
