Earlier this month, Le Sentier-based Jaeger-LeCoultre debuted two new Memovox Master Control timepieces.

The Memovox and Memovox Timer extend the new collection of four Master Control models introduced earlier in the year. Both wristwatches are presented in newly reshaped 40 mm x 12.39 mm round stainless steel cases and powered by Jaeger-LeCoultre’s in-house caliber 956. The primary difference between the two watches is the dial design, price, and production volume.

One model, the Master Control Memovox (Ref. 4118420), has a silver sunray dial with applied Arabic numerals at 12, 9, and 6, and with faceted, applied dart-shaped indices for the rest of the hour markers, except at 3 o’clock which has a date aperture. The steel hour and minute hands are dauphine-shaped, with a long blued baton-shaped center second hand. The alarm function is featured on the center disc with an applied arrow-shaped alarm time indicator, controlled by a second dedicated crown. Luminescent dots and a small lume strip on the hour and minute hands — and the alarm indicator — allow you to read the time and alarm setting in the dark.

The second model, the Memovox Master Control Timer (Ref. 410848J), features a two-tone blue sunray dial, with applied Arabic numerals at 12, 9, and 6, and dart-shaped applied indices at the other hours except at 3 which has been omitted for the date aperture. Instead of an arrow marking the alarm time, this version has relief engraved (embossed) and polished numerals on the frosted Memovox alarm disc. A small red hand points to the alarm time as opposed to the entire disc rotating like on the abovementioned silver dial model. The hour and minute hands are Dauphine-shaped, with a long baton-shaped central seconds hand. Both the time and alarm chapter rings are in a baby-blue with white markings which contrasts against the darker sunray blue main dial.

An open sapphire caseback offers a view of the decorated Swiss-made caliber 956 movement, which has 271 parts and a free-sprung balance wheel, and is decorated with a gold-plated skeletonized oscillating weight, Geneva stripes on the bridges, and blued screws. Each watch has a power reserve of 45-hours. Water-resistance for both Memovox timepieces is rated to 50 meters.
