This is a MAD Paris customized pre-owned Submariner Date with a black and yellow color scheme.

Starting with a pre-owned version of the last generation Rolex Submariner Date Ref. 116610LN — MAD Paris treated the entire 40 mm 904L stainless steel case and Oyster bracelet with a scratch-resistant matte black DLC coating. The dial was given a similar matte black treatment, although it clearly has a more textured surface than the smooth finish on the case and bracelet. The bezel insert has also been blackened.

To maintain legibility and to enhance the bespoke look, the indices, hands, date wheel, bezel graduations, and the printed “MAD” logo at 6 o’clock have been accented in bright yellow — which pops against the all-black surfaces. MAD Paris did a good job making this “Bumblebee” Submariner which is visually similar to a limited edition 2009 Audemars Piguet timepiece with a black and yellow color scheme, nicknamed the Bumblebee and kept the Submariner even more subtle.

One additional nice touch is the aftermarket sapphire caseback which provides a view of the Rolex’s last generation in-house 3135 caliber movement.

The MAD Paris Rolex Submariner Date “Bumblebee” (Ref. 16322581 / MADXFE007) is showing as available at Brownfashion, Farfetch, and Modesens for between $42,449 to $50,956.
