First released in 2016, Armin Strom redesigned its patented Mirrored Force timepiece last year — giving it a new case, dial, and movement.

Following the launch of the First Edition in 2022, today Armin Strom announces the next variation of the second generation Mirrored Force. The 2023 Mirrored Force Resonance Manufacture Edition Blue is distinguished by its hours, minutes, dual seconds displays — and in particular the gorgeous new dark blue grenage dial.

Rendered in stainless steel the new Mirrored Force Resonance case measures 43 mm x 11.55 mm and features a new box-shaped sapphire crystal that elevates the aesthetic and offers an enhanced view of the intricate granular surface of the grenage dial, not to mention showing off the hand-finished movement components, such as the dual balances and clutch spring which make up the resonance system.

As mentioned above, not only the case and dial but also the mechanism was fully redesigned last year. The resonance area of the movement has the same fundamental configuration as the original from 2016 — with two balance bridges and balance wheels rotating in opposite directions — and is synchronized via Armin Strom’s patented Resonance Clutch Spring. What’s new, though, is that everything has been given a more upscale appearance.

The newest generation of resonance is the quickest and most reliable on the market, synchronizing faster than any other watch that uses resonance and remaining in a resonant state longer than any other. There’s also a pusher at 2 o’clock on the case flank, to automatically sync the two balance wheels, though, they should quickly sync on their own once the watch is operating.

The result is more accurate timekeeping. And according to the manufacture, the dual configuration and resulting resonance effect, means the watch is more resistant to shocks or vibrations than standard mechanical movements.
