TAG Heuer launched a new semi-skeletonized version of its Monaco timepiece this weekend during the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Monte Carlo.
Along with the round Carrera and Aquaracer case designs, TAG Heuer’s namesake Monaco timepiece is a square-shaped timepiece that is as iconic as Jaeger-LeCoultre’s rectangle-shaped Reverso. Similarly, one is inspired by a sport, Polo, and the other by Formula 1 racing.
Monte Carlo is one of the racing world’s most illustrious cities, featuring the legendary Circuit de Monaco track that’s as picturesque as it is challenging.
On the occasion of the 2024 Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix, TAG Heuer held mega-parties celebrating racing and warm weather, and they naturally dropped a new Monaco timepiece, the Monaco Chronograph Dark Blue.
Highlighted by a skeletonized dark blue opaline dial with yellow accent colors, and in the background, is the in-house manufactured automatic caliber Heuer TH20-00, with a chronograph function, and 80-hour power reserve.
TAG Heuer’s smaller, more classic 39 mm diameter case was used here and is made of lightweight titanium, with a black DLC coating, finishing with a blue calfskin leather and rubber strap made to look like textile.
The Monaco Chronograph Dark Blue (Ref. CBL2188.FT6261) retails for $11,250.
