Initially created for the Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorite (and to power future watches), the Omega caliber 9914 is an advanced in-house dual hemisphere moonphase movement.
Omega caliber 9914 is Swiss made, 4Hz, 45-jewel, manually wound movement with a premium column-wheel chronograph and Omega’s patented Co-Axial escapement. This META-certified master chronometer movement has a silicon balance spring, free-sprung balance system, 2 mainspring barrels mounted in series that are good for up to 60 hours of power reserve, is anti-magnetic to 15,000 gauss, and is tested and adjusted to a better than chronometer rate of 0/+5 seconds per day, after being cased up, and before leaving the Omega factory.
The movement is decorated with rhodium-plated bridges, red varnished engravings, black screws, machined beveled bridge edges, and Geneva waves in arabesque.
The Omega caliber 9914 features central hours, central minutes, central chronograph seconds, small seconds (at 9 o’clock), date (at 9 o’clock), chronograph hour and minutes (at 3 o’clock), and dual hemisphere moonphase indicator (at 6 o’clock).
