Developed in partnership with Seiko X Wena Wrist, this watch is basically a modified version of the SKX007, with smartwatch functions built-in to the bracelet.

Unlike some of the clunky under-wrist-strap-mounted smart straps that have been created previously, this one is thin and integrated directly into the bracelet without any significant components protruding out.

This watch, particularly the technological part was developed with Sony’s help, along with their incubator smartwatch company Wena. The watch itself is a Seiko, with the SKX007 case, handset, 4 o’clock crown and such. The finish, which comes as shown and in black PVD, is unique, as are the hour markers. But everything else, including the mechanical movement, is presumably built on Seiko’s existing SKX platform, which is a good thing considering that it is well tested, reliable, and affordable.

The smart bracelet functionality includes a digital screen that lets you see notifications, answer calls, log your activity, and enables wireless payments.

It’s currently available in Japan only for retail price of approximately $850. Learn more at Wena Wrist.
