To celebrate its partnership with Alinghi Red Bull Racing, Tudor unveiled two brand new Pelagos FXD models: a chronograph and a time-only watch.

The Pelagos FXD and Pelagos FXD Chronograph come in 42 mm (Ref. 25707KN) and 43 mm (Ref. 25807KN) diameter cases, respectively — made from lightweight matte black carbon composite, with stainless steel screw in casebacks, stainless steel movement containers, titanium screw-down crowns, titanium pushers (chronograph only), titanium bezels, and carbon composite bezel inserts.

“The Pelagos FXD “Alinghi Red Bull Racing Edition” models come with several firsts for Tudor, that go beyond just the watches. A long-term partnership between Tudor and Alinghi Red Bull Racing was launched in 2022, the first time Tudor ventured into the world of competitive yacht racing. In this centuries-old sport, victory comes by fusing a resolutely daring human spirit with the most cutting-edge technology. The watches were born out of this philosophy, by combining a high-tech carbon composite, a first for Tudor, with titanium and stainless steel, just like on an AC75 (America’s Cup 75) hydrofoil racing yacht. It’s also the first time Tudor has integrated a chronograph caliber into a fixed strap-bars case,” according to the brand.

Using Tudor’s 200-meter depth-rated FXD case design, with fixed strap bars, which was initially developed with French Navy combat divers seen in the Tudor Pelagos FXD “Marine Nationale,” introduced in 2021, each model has a 120-click bi-directional bezel (60-0) which can countdown the time before the start of a sailing regatta.

Both the time-only and chronograph Pelagos FXD ARBR timepieces have a matte blue dial with luminescent ceramic composite monobloc applied hour markers and show flake hands. The bi-directional rotatable titanium bezel has a matte black finished carbon composite insert with grade X1 Swiss Super-LumiNova® luminous material filled retrograde 60-minute graduations. Subtly alluding to the Alinghi Red Bull Racing tie-in are the red center seconds hand on the time-only watch and a red chronograph seconds hand on the chronograph, along with “PELAGOS” printed in red, and red encircling the two registers on the chronograph model.

“Alinghi Red Bull Racing” is printed in white, between 10 and 2 on the 45-degree angled flange, and each of the casebacks is emblazoned with the Alinghi Red Bull Racing logo.

The time-only FXD Pelagos ARBR (Ref. 25707KN) is powered by Tudor caliber MT5602 which measures 31.8 mm x 6.5 mm and has 25 jewels, and the FXD Pelagos Chronograph ARBR (25807KN) is powered by caliber MT5813 which measures 30.4 mm x 7.23 mm and has 41 jewels. Both are 4Hz automatic COSC-certified chronometers, with silicon balance springs, free-sprung balance wheels, bidirectional winding, and 70-hour power reserves.

The chronograph features a premium column-wheel and vertical clutch design, and offers an instantaneous date function at 6 o’clock, with rapid adjustment.

Each movement is tested to be accurate to -2/+4 seconds per day, after being fully cased up, which exceeds the -4/+6 chronometer standard requirement.

Completing the aesthetic are 22 mm wide dark blue one-piece textile straps developed by Tudor and Julien Faure, with a red accent color sewn in, a velcro closure, and a titanium “D” buckle self-gripping fastening system.

The retail price is $3,675 for the time-only FXD Pelagos ARBR and $5,075 for the FXD Pelagos Chronograph ARBR.
