As part of the 75th anniversary of the Seamaster, Omega introduced eight new references of the dive watch, with “Summer Blue” dials.

The Omega Seamaster 300 75th Anniversary features an attractive ocean blue gradient sandwich dial — that transitions from light to darker blue as you move toward its perimeter — and is perhaps the most appealing of them all.

In addition to the varnished blue gradient dial, Omega gave the recessed (sandwich) numerals and indices a special light blue luminous material, further adding to the “Summer Blue” theme. The rhodium-plated hands also feature light blue lume except for the minute hand, which is blue until it turns dark at which point it lights up green, and the pip at 12 o’clock which also lights up green. Another extra detail that Seamaster fans will surely love, is the switch from an arrow-tipped center seconds hand to a lollipop tip.

While Omega kept the 41 mm diameter (and 48 mm lug-to-lug) case dimensions the same, the thickness is 1 mm thicker (at 13.9 mm vs 13.8 mm) than the Seamaster 300 we reviewed here because the 75th Anniversary model has a special commemorative solid screw-in caseback, which is embossed with a historic Seamaster emblem depicting a trident-bearing Poseidon and two seahorses, versus the clear caseback on the existing model.

Like the Seamaster 300 that we covered here, the movement inside is a 3.5Hz, 38-jewel, automatic caliber 8912 Co-Axial Master Chronometer, with a 60-hour power reserve, that’s been METAS certified and adjusted to an accuracy of  0/+4 before leaving the factory. The Seamaster 300 75th Anniversary edition (Ref. 234.30.41.21.03.002) weighs 156 grams on the bracelet and currently carries a $700 premium over the existing steel Seamaster 300 models at a retail price of $7,400.
