Breguet Type XXII Flyback Chronograph GMT 10 Hertz

At Baselworld 2010, Breguet introduced the, which runs at a velocious rate of 10 hertz. The timepiece above is identical to the production version, but this particular sample did not have a working movement inside. The Breguet, silicon escapement based movement, at 10 hertz which is 72,000 vibrations per hour – is fast. In fact, the Breguet Type XXII Flyback Chronograph GMT will have the fastest oscillating production wristwatch movement on the market. Notably, one benefit is the ability to record with 1/20th of second chronograph accuracy, and another is higher accuracy. Its stainless steel case, 44 mm across, houses a Breguet chronograph movement with silicon escapement and flat balance spring whose frequency has been raised to 10 Hertz (i.e. 72,000 vibrations per hour), endowing the movement with exceptional regulating power, its chronograph seconds hand effecting a complete rotation in

Gucci Classic Chronograph Watch Introduced in Basel

One of Gucci's most important introductions at Baselworld this year, was the Classic Chronograph Watch. It comes in a stainless steel case, that is 44 mm in diameter and coated with a scratch-resistant black PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition). The dial features Gucci's signature red and green scheme on the hands and on a shiny monogram at a 3 o'clock. Powering the chronograph is a quartz ETA G10.211 H1 movement. The bracelet comes in black or military green and features a black PVD buckle. Overall, this is a nice looking watch, and it has the signature Gucci look.

Armin Strom Skeletonized Timepieces

Biel, Switzerland based manufacture Armin Strom, exhibited at Baselworld for the first time this year. They had a location in Hall 1.1, which is an excellent floor location, especially for a such a new brand. This and a newly built Swiss factory, definitely shows that Armin Strom is serious about building a strong watch brand. Armin Strom, the watchmaker, is well known for making beautifully finished, handmade skeletonized watches. He now teaches his skills and know-how to younger watchmakers within the company. The watch (pictured), the most complicated piece in their current collection, is fully hand skeletonized and hand engraved by a master watchmaker, personally trained by Armin. The resulting pieces, are some of the most beautiful skeletonized watches I've ever seen.

Feature: Casio X-Large G-Shock Ana-Digi

Casio introduced many new watch styles at Baselworld this year. I like the new X-Large G watch the best. It features a new analog and digital dial, and a stopwatch function that can record with 1/1000th second precision, which makes this a great watch to time sporting events. Like the majority of G-Shocks, it is big, yet very comfortable. The case is sleeker than the classic G-Shocks, that have an area which protrudes out on both sides of the case. This shape is cleaner and more comfortable. And the buttons are easier to activate in comparison to a classic G-Shock. The analog readout is a nice touch too, and really defines this new style. Available in all black, white or yellow.
