Grand Seiko debuted their first wristwatch in 1960 — making 2020 the company’s 60th anniversary — and to pay tribute the Japanese watchmaker has created four Limited Edition timepieces.
The first is the Sport Collection Quartz Limited Edition SBGP015 (pictured top) that is powered by Grand Seiko’s ultra-accurate (at ±10 seconds per year) in-house caliber 9F85 quartz movement and features a blue ceramic bezel which matches the dial color. The stainless steel case measures 40 mm x 12.4 mm, has a screw-down crown, screw-in caseback, and is water-resistant to 200 meters. It will be available in April 2020 as a limited edition of 2,000 for a retail price of $3,900.

Second, is the Heritage Collection Quartz Limited Edition SBGP007 which comes in a slightly thinner 40.0 mm x 10.8 mm stainless steel case with a blue dial with a unique repeating “2020” pattern. This model is also powered by the Grand Seiko caliber 9F85 quartz but has been adjusted to an even higher level of accuracy (at ±5 seconds per year) than the other quartz we mentioned above, and the high precision is marked by a five-pointed star on the dial. The caseback is screwed-in and features an 18K yellow gold medallion insert. Water-resistance is 100 meters. It will be available in March 2020 as a limited edition of 2,500 for a retail price of $3,800.

The third watch is the Elegance Collection Women’s Automatic Limited Edition STGK015. This stainless steel lady’s watch measures 27.8 mm x 11.2 mm and has a blue mother of pearl dial with 11 diamond hour markers and 45 diamonds set in the bezel (56 total diamonds equalling 0.48 carats). Inside is the automatic in-house caliber 9S27 which has 35 jewels, beats at 4Hz, and has a 50-hour power reserve. It comes with a see-through caseback and is water-resistant to 100 meters. Available in February 2020 as limited editions 300 for a retail price of $9,500.

And last is the Heritage Collection Hi-Beat 36000 Limited Edition SBGH281. Paying homage to the 44GS from 1967 this watch comes in a 40 mm x 13.3 mm stainless steel case with a blue dial and is powered by Grand Seiko automatic Hi-Beat caliber 9S85 which runs at 5Hz, has 37 jewels, and a 55-hour power reserve The watch has a see-through screw-in case back, a screw-down crown, and is water-resistant to 100 meters.
