To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the F.P. Journe Tokyo boutique, the Genevan watchmaker created a limited edition timepiece.
The Chronographe FB features a sleek 40 mm x 10.4 mm diameter polished titanium case with an 18K 6N gold crown and pushers, a gilded ruthenium dial on gold, gold hour and minutes hands, sapphire counters, and that’s complemented by a burgundy alligator leather strap mounted on an 18K 6N Gold folding clasp.
Underneath the dial is F.P. Journe’s gorgeous caliber 1518.2 in 18K rose gold — which boasts a flyback chronograph that allows the wearer to reset and restart the chronograph instantly by pressing the pusher at 4 o’clock, enabling successive measurements.
The hand-wound 3Hz movement can run for up to 80 hours without the chronograph running and is finished with circular stripes on the bridges, straight graining, a mainplate that’s partly circular-grained, steel parts with polished chamfers, polished screw heads with chamfered slots, and pegs with polished rounded ends.
A tachymeter scale surrounds the dial, indicating speed for a distance based on 1000 meters using the chronograph seconds hand, which makes a complete revolution in 2 minutes (the minute counter at 3 o’clock completes its rotation every 60 minutes, with each jump-of-the-hand being 2 minutes.
An oversized aperture at 6 o’clock displays the date and has been color-matched for a seamless look.
The Chronographe FB is limited to 200 pieces.
