Swatch announced a new MoonSwatch today — the Mission to the Super Blue Moonphase.

Featuring the same 42 mm x 13.75 mm (47.3 mm lug-to-lug) dimensions as all previous MoonSwatches, this latest iteration — the MoonSwatch Mission to the Super Blue Moonphase comes in a blue bioceramic colorway with a pearlescent white dial with dark blue and powder blue accent colors on the hands, indices, subdials, and the moon phase display.

Like the white and black versions of the Snoppy Mission to the Moonphase introduced in March, this new edition has the moon phase indicator between 1 and 3 o’clock on the dial. Under UV light, a secret detail appears on the moon phase mask and disc.

Additionally, instead of a tachymeter scale on the bezel, there’s a new pulsometer scale. This is a nod to the Omega Speedmaster Pulsometer Ref. CK 2998. The scale is calibrated to 30 pulsations, so all you do is start the chronograph seconds hand from zero, counting up until 30 heartbeats, then stop it, and where the second-hand points represent your current heart rate. The G-Shock Move DWH5600, and other smartwatches like the latest Apple Watch, can also, calculate your heart rate, albeit, electronically.

The blue-on-white panda-like colorway and moonphase functionality should draw new appeal to the MoonSwatch collection, which saw a meteoric rise when it first came out in 2022 and has seemingly lost some of its hype in 2024.

A domed plexiglass crystal, 30 meters of water resistance, and a velcro strap come standard like in all past iterations of the MoonSwatch. The retail price is $310 and it will be available at Swatch stores worldwide starting August 1, 2024, at 5 pm and ending August 19, 2024.
