Today, Hodinkee and Longines debuted a limited-edition timepiece that harkens back to the brand’s archival designs from the first half of the 20th century.

The Longines Heritage Classic Hodinkee Limited Edition 38.5 mm diameter x 11 mm stainless steel case (47.75 mm lug to lug) with a stepped bezel, brushed finish, and slender lugs. Combine that with a two-tone sector dial, that features a cream finish, contrasted by a silver circular brushed chapter ring and blued index hands — and the result is a retro aesthetic.

Keeping with the vintage styling, the dial has black printed indices, and no luminous paint or date indicator. The sector look is carried over to the small seconds subdial with black printed graduations on top tone-on-tone stamped concentric circle azurage surface.

Driving this time-only watch is an automatic 21-jewel movement based on an ETA A31.501. Referred to as caliber L893 (which is exclusive to Longines), the movement uses an advanced silicon balance spring, beats at 3.5Hz, has 21 jewels, and has a maximum power reserve of 72-hours. The movement has been COSC-certified and is therefore adjusted to chronometer level accuracy of -4/+6 seconds per day.

Each watch comes with both a 19 mm, at the lugs, stainless steel beads-of-rice bracelet, and an additional leather strap.
