This Sunday, HBO (now called “Max”) will air the Succession Season 4 finale, which also marks the end of the show.

Instead of dragging the show on for an eternity, the showrunners decided to end on a high note, rather than letting the popular, Emmy-award-winning drama-comedy jump the shark. Although considering the success of the show, and that a succession has taken place, hopefully, they make a spinoff.

Flashing back to five years ago, when Succession first aired Season 1, there were certainly watches seen on the wrists of the actors/actresses, which is fitting considering the sheer wealth of the characters, however, some of the watch choices have clearly progressed by the time the show reached Season 4.

Don’t get me wrong, there were helicopters, private jets Bentleys, Rolls Royces, and ultra-luxury designer clothing from the start, but by Season 4, characters were all wearing watches of the same ilk, from Rolex, IWC, Cartier, Richard Mille, Patek Philippe, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Audemars Piguet and so on.

Notably, Tom Wambsgans, played by Matthew Macfadyen, started out in Season 1, wearing what — based on the long thin lugs and lack of a date window — appears to be a fake Cartier Ballon Bleu. His character started as what can be described as a sycophantic social climber, who married into the Roy family. By Season 4, though, he’s become much more confident in his place in the family, and far less servile. Best of all, throughout Season 4, Wambsgans appears to be wearing an authentic stainless steel 41 mm Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph with a blue dial (Ref. 26331ST.OO.1220ST.01). Whether they took the cue from Bobby Axelrod, played by Damien Lewis, on Billions, or not, this to me is the best watch of Succession.
