Hands-On with the TAG Heuer Carrera CH80 Chronograph

Today we bring you a world first hands-on look at the new 41 mm TAG Heuer Carrera CH80 Chronograph. This is the first watch equipped with TAG Heuer’s new manufacture made caliber 1969 movement (also known as “caliber CH80”). Manufactured at TAG Heuer’s all new Chevenez factory, the caliber CH80 features a premium column wheel and vertical clutch chronograph configuration. It runs at 4Hz and has a maximum power reserve of 80-hours, all in a package that is only 6.5 mm thick. The decoration of the movement consists of “Côte de Genève” and snailing on the black tungsten oscillating weight and the minute and automatic bridges, which are nickel plated and angle polished, with shiny beveled edges. TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre CH 80 Chronograph - 41 mm

Today at Baselworld, TAG Heuer unveiled the Carrera Caliber CH 80 Chronograph, which is the first watch powered by the caliber 1969, an in-house made vertical clutch column wheel movement. Running at 4Hz and consisting of 233 components, the caliber 1969 boasts an impressive 80-hour power reserve and is only 6.5 mm thick.

Introducing the Tudor Heritage Black Bay - Blue

The Tudor Heritage Black Bay was first presented in 2012 with pink-gold hands (including the signature Snowflake-shaped hands) and hour markers, a black-brown dial, cream colored luminous material and a burgundy red bezel. Now two years later, in the same 41 mm steel case, Tudor presents the Heritage Black Bay - Blue. Unlike the previous Heritage Black Bay that has a vintage aesthetic, this new version has a bit more of a modern look to it.

Omega teases a new Seamaster ahead of Baselworld

Baselworld 2014 will open for “press day” at noon on March 26th, followed by the official opening on March 27th. This means we will begin bringing you live updates on the latest timepieces in less than 24 hours. In the meantime, here are a few teaser images of the impending launch of a new Omega Seamaster. We do not have all the details yet, but it is clear from the images that Seamaster will have straight lugs (like the historic reference 2998), the dial will feature a sandwich design and the bezel insert is made of Liquidmetal, a high-tech alloy that is used by Apple as well as being licensed by the Swatch Group.
